tortorici

The trail starts in Migliosi, in the municipal district of Tortorici. From here you will arrive in the ancient via Regia, crossing a dirty road, deciduous forests and coniferous trees. This type of road was used both for the transit of flocks and herds, and as main public roads between cities and countries.
Going along difficult mountain pastures and small rural stone shelters you will arrive to Monte Cuculo (1,301 m above sea level) and reach San Marco port. From this point you will take the path that, passing through the Contrada Ceresìa, will guide you to the top of Monte San Pietro (1,089 m asl), from where you can admire the territory of Tortorici, its enchanting woods and a breathtaking landscape. Once you reach the top of Monte San Pietro, you will stop for a packed lunch and then downhill to the village of Tortorici, the town of Hazelnuts and Bells.

Here, along the “vanedde” (small streets), you can visit the main Churches, the Foundry Museum of the Bells, the Ethno-Anthropological Museum and the Museum of Photography.
You can also taste the local pastry made with hazelnuts.
