coda di volpe

The excursion includes a guided tour of the Oriented Natural Reserve of the Marinello Lakes. After the visiting the lakes in the seaside lagoon you will continue towards Tindari, following an ancient path called "Coda di Volpe" (fox tail). This path winds its way through the Marinello natural reserve and up the hillside to its destination. This track was used, many centuries ago, to connect the ancient town of Tyndaris with its harbour. Later it was used by pilgrims to reach the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna. Along the path, immersed in the great biodiversity of the Mediterranean scrub, it is possible to admire the beautiful landscapes of the Gulf of Patti, the Aeolian Islands and, especially, the amazing Marinello's lagoon.
After the visit to the Sanctuary, you can continue the guided tour to the archaeological area of the ancient Tyndaris, on request. After a short lunch break, you will return to the starting point, following the same path.
