From the central square of Sorrentini, in the district of Patti, you can reach the path that leads to the top of Mount Meliuso, where there are the ruins of the ancient Gioiosa Guardia, a medieval town abandoned in the late 18th century. In this area, it is also possible to admire the ruins of an ancient Greek settlement dating back to the V century B.C.

On the way, you can enjoy the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub and some of the typical cultivations such as hazel groves, chestnut groves and grapevines. From the top, you can admire the amazing landscapes of the Aeolian Islands, Mount Etna, Milazzo Cape and also a fascinating sunset.
