Capo Milazzo is one of the most fascinating areas of the province of Messina. Its landscape is formed by the typical Mediterranean vegetation mixed with the marine environment, characterised by steep cliffs. The starting point of the hike is in Sant’ Antonio’s little square, where you will can enjoy the beautiful sight over the bay.

After the visit of the rock-cut sanctuary, you will continue on a path slightly downhill between the sea and the white cliffs leading to the ancient "tonnarella" (mazes of nets to catch tunas). Here, you will take a short break between the shacks dating back to the year 1000. The tour will continues with the visit of D'Amico tower, walking on a winding path over the sea. You will take another uphill struggle between the cliffs, enjoying a beautiful sight over St. Anthony Bay. A trail formed by grey steps (locally called “grey snake”) leading to the calcareous rocks, will guide you to the charming “Piscina di Venere” (Pool of Venus), a natural tide pool. From these cliffs you can be able to see numerous species of birds such as the red-billed chough an the common kingfisher. After a break, you will go back up through the steps of the "grey snake" from which you will admire the Aeolian archipelago and the Gulf of Patti. The excursion will continue near the ancient lighthouse, in a flat olive grove, characterised by olive trees, brooms and mastics. Here you will take another trail to come back to the starting point in St. Anthony little square.

Capo Milazzo: La Baronia path
A flat ring route starts from the Bay of Sant'Antonio, the most suggestive cove of the whole Promontory of Capo Milazzo. The path is crossed by a vast centuries-old olive grove that extends for about 46 hectares, and by a 10-hectare vineyard that leads to Punta Mazza, from which you can admire the splendid panorama on the east coast. From here, you will move by car to the Piazzetta Sant'Antonio. The excursion will finish with a short visit to the ancient Rupestrian Sanctuary named after the Saint.

The nature trail called "Punta Messinese" is available on request. This path leads to the extreme point of the "Capo" up to an age old olive grove that develops on the plateau near the lighthouse of Capo Milazzo and Venus Pool, from which you can admire a wonderful panorama.

Capo Milazzo : La Manica path
The La Manche path, also known as the "N'fennu e Paradisu” (hell and heaven) Nature Trail is
one of the most characteristic routes of Capo Milazzo.

The trip starts with a stop at "Boschetto dell'Ancora", a stretch of coastline born thanks to the
commitment of Legambiente and numerous volunteers and characterized by typical coastal
natural vegetation. From here, going up a flight of steps, you can reach Via Manica, from where
you are able to see the whole city of Milazzo and the fantastic bay or 'Ngonia del Tono. The trail leads
to "N'fennu e Paradisu" path that develops uphill up to Monte Trino.

On the way, you can see the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub. After a brief stop you will come back to the starting point. From here, you will move by car to the Piazzetta Sant'Antonio, from which you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the homonymous bay. After a short visit to the ancient Rupestrian Sanctuary, you will undertake the nature trail "Punta Messinese" that leads to the extreme point of the "Capo Milazzo" up to an age old olive grove.

Circumnavigation of Capo Milazzo
Embarked at one of its tourist harbors, you will reach the geographical point "Croce al Mare".
Baies, cliffs and the typical Mediterranean vegetation will be visible along the coast, during the
circumnavigation to the North. 
After reaching the extreme tip of the Peninsula, you will head West, to the wild side. You will enjoy baies, rocks, and caves up to Punta del Messinese. From here, you will head towards Cala Sant'Antonio, where there are the ruins of the ancient Calapaj-D'Amico tuna-fishing nets and the rocky Sanctuary of Sant'Antonio da Padova. Before returning to the south, it is possible to take a swim in the deep blue sea.
During the path, you will able to admire Mount Trino, the difficultest point of the Promontory of Capo
Milazzo . The tour continues to Punta Prestalogna, to greet the Tunis and the historic tonnara on which the name of the neighborhood depends. Form here you will take the road back.
