Enjoy a beautiful naturalistic excursion to the “Rocche del Crasto” in the Nebrodi Park, among wild nature, mountain quiet and breathtaking landscapes.

The mountain is characterized by 5 main peaks. It is mainly composed of carbonatic formations (limestone and dolomites). This place is very important from a geomorphological and faunistic point of view: it is possible to see some nests of birds like those of the golden eagle and the griffon vulture, two of the largest living bird in Europe. Our guides will lead you to the discovery of one of the most evocative places of Sicily, passing through the sharp gray-pink peaks, to the great valleys crossing beautiful views.

The trail starts in Portella Gazzana (980m s.l.m.) and continues up the hillside crossing “Rifugio del Sole”, at a height of about 1300 meters.

The dirt road of the path will cross some woods, wide pastures and some sources. Along the trail, immersed in the great biodiversity, it is possible to admire oak woods (Quercus cerris and Quercus pubescens), some chestnuts, ferns and maples.

Continuing the path and passing “P.zzo Corvo” and “Sorgente tre Fontane”, the trail will lead you to Rifugio del Sole. From here you will arrive to Pizzo Aglio and then to Rocca del Crasto. Subsequently along a pleasant descent, you will return to P.lla Gazzana.
