grifone

Enjoy one of Sicily wonders: “Bacco-Area dei Grifoni” path, in the Nebrodi Park. During the trail it is possible to admire the griffon-vultures, that can reach a wingspan of almost 3 meters; with the help of a telescope, you can even see them brooding in their nest.

The tour starts from the Grifoni Area, historic nesting and feeding site of Alcara li Fusi. From here, the path will lead you to the “Borgo Stella” pastoral settlement, and then to “Bacco Contrada”, crossing millenary ruins. The whole trip develops on the Sicilian Apennines, in the context of the dolomite rock crossed by the karst stream Stella. Along the way, immersed in the great biodiversity of this typical rocky area, it is possible to admire the beautiful landscapes of Castro Mountains, on which the golden eagle normally flies. The excursion will finish with the visit to the Nebrodi Park Museum.

Optionally, you can take a guided tour of the historic center of Alcara Li Fusi.
