Montagnareale - Mulino di Capo and Usignolo path
The path is situated in Fiumara Street, 3 Km far from the town center, and runs along a stream. On the way it is possible to see the typical riparian vegetation, consisting mainly of poplars and alders, but also hazel trees, walnut trees and other trees of the Mediterranean scrub. The path leads to the “Sorgente dell’Usignolo” (nightingale’s source), a charming place where you can see the water gushing from the rock. From here, along the same path, you will come back to the starting point. Furthermore, it is possible to visit the “Mulino di Capo” in Montagnareale, a water mill with a horizontal wheel that is still working.

Montagnareale: Ilici Mountain and Rocca Saracena
Along a small stream and through a forest, the trail leads to "Acqua Usignolo" spring. The route will continue uphill to “Monte Ilici”, one of the difficultest peaks of this area (almost at 1,000 m altitude above sea level), from which you can enjoy a wonderful panorama. From here, you will move to the “Rifugio di Rocca Saracena” to taste a lunch based on typical local products. At the end of the break, crossing majestic chestnut, hazel and oak woods you will arrive to C.da Fiumara, in Montagnareale. Before or at the end of this excursion it is possible to visit “Mulino del Capo”, an ancient water mill still working
