From the Pasci district, flanking the wonderful cliff of the “Rocca Calanna”, nesting site of the Golden Eagle, you will crossing a beautiful rocky amphitheater. Along the path immersed in the great rugged biodiversity, you will arrive to “Grotta del Lauro”, a wonderful karstic cavity on the slopes of the “Rocche del Crasto”, in the territory of Alcara li Fusi. The cave is at an altitude of about 1100 m a.s.l. and it is characterized by several particular cavities from which multiple tunnels branch off. Inside, it is possible to admire stalactites and stalagmites, and various Carbonate concretions structured over time by the waters. In addition to the speleological aspect, the cavity is very important from the archaeological point of view, because it is probably one of the Sicily’s site of Bronze Age human settlement.
