The Tassita forest of Caronia is one of the most beautiful sites in Nebrodi Park. It represents the only wood with a predominance of Taxus baccata from all over Sicily. This extraordinary tree is also known as the "tree of death", due to the poisonousness of its fruits and leaves.

The excursion begins with the "thematic trail of coal", where it is possible to observe the various coal processing, practiced by the ancient men of this area.

The path leads through a forest with a predominance of beech for about 1.5 km until you’ll reach the entrance of the Tassita Wood. After a picnic lunch in the woods near a spring of fresh water, you will return to the starting point.
